Deputy Minister Dimcho Mihalevsky to participate in a seminar on Cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Greece

The Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Dimcho Mihalevsky will meet the contractors on the projects for cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Greece financed under Phare Program. The meeting will take place at 10:00 h on December 16th, 2005 at “Glavatarski Chan” Hotel in the town of Kardjali. Experts form Phare Implementation Agency in MRDPW, representatives of non-governmental organizations, schools and the local organs for self-government from the districts of Haskovo, Kardjali, Smolyan, Blagoevgrad will take part in the meeting. The beneficiaries will report the results from the projects accomplished during the past year and financed by the Phare Program CBC - Bulgaria-Greece Joint Small Projects Fund under the 2001 Memorandum. The 12 projects for cooperation between the two countries which are to be carried out in the following 11 months will be presented during the meeting. At the end of November this year the European Commission Delegation to Bulgaria approved the projects which were granted financing by the CBC Fund. Their total amount is over EUR 506 000 of which about EUR 450 000 are ensured by EU under Phare Program. Public Relations and International Activities Directorate
