KAPSCH TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS was selected as the Contractor of the toll system

CONSORTIUM KAPSCH TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS was selected as the Contractor of the public procurement for design, building up and introduction of an electronic system for collection of the tolls for use of the national road network. It will be on the basis of passed distance for motor vehicles with a total technically admissible maximal weight of over 3,5 t (toll) and on the basis of time for cars with a total technically admissible maximal weight of up to 3,5 t (electronic vignette). The Chairman of the Management Board of Road Infrastructure Agency, Eng. Doncho Atanasov, signed the decision for classification of the participants in the procedure and the selection of a Contractor of the public procurement.

The classification of the participants in conformity with the announced criterion for evaluation “the most economically advantageous tender” is as follows:

• CONSORTIUM KAPSCH TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS – with a complex evaluation 100 points;
• CONSORTIUM TOLL BULGARIA – with a complex evaluation 74,27 points.

The term for execution of the public procurement is 19 months. The building up of the toll system will be at the expense of the selected Contractor. After its successful introduction the investment should be refunded through the revenues collected.
