Minister Nankov met European Commissioners Corina Cretu and Karmenu Vella

Ministers of regional development and public works Nikolay Nankov, of the environment and waters Neno Dimov, of transport, information technology and communications Ivaylo Moskovski, and of tourism Nikolina Angelkova met the Commissioner of regional policy Corina Cretu, and the Commissioner of the environment and waters Karmenu Vella.

The progress of construction of the “Struma” highway was presented at the meeting held today in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.

Before media, after the meeting Minister Nankov commented that our country is expected to complete the highway successfully and on time.

I hope we will successfully complete the Environmental impact evaluation procedure for the stretch through the Kresna gorge to then continue with the remaining project activities, because 2023 is not only our ambition, but also the final deadline for implementation of the “Struma” highway in its entirety, he noted.

The ministers invited the two European Commissioners to visit Bulgaria to examine on site the progress of the “Struma” highway project.
