The rate of the eco-fees for vehicles was discussed at a work meeting today

The rate of the eco-fees for vehicles, which must be introduced from next year on, was discussed at a work meeting between the Minster of Regional Development and Public Works Rosen Plevneliev and representatives of the “Road Infrastructure” Agency.
The foreseen annual fee for vehicles with a standard Euro 3, 4 or 5 is to be decreased with 5%. The fees for vehicles with a Euro 2 eco-standard (or lower) of the engine will be increased, as they are environmentally unfriendly. This will affect the vehicles that were produced before the year 2000.
The eco-fees for vehicles are being introduced in connection with the changes in the Roads Act from 2008. The requirements of the European legislation in the field of road taxation are being transposed in it.
