We are trying to attract private investors to perform the feasibility study for the northern Bulgarian section, Sofia–Vidin, of Corridor 4, said Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Valentin Tserovski after his meeting with representatives of AEGEK CONSTRUCTION, AKTOR CONSTRUCTION, SALFO&ASSOCIATES, and EGNATIA ODOS S.A – four of the largest Greek companies in infrastructure development and construction. After the completion of such a study, serious talks could begin on a concession arrangement for the motorway to be built from the Bulgarian-Greek border to the port of Lom. We could safely say, went on Minister Tserovski, that today’s was one of the first serious working meetings on the motorway connection between the second bridge on the river Danube and the Bulgarian-Greek border at Koulata–Promahon. The talks were attended by Mr. Emil Kotsev, Executive Director of Technoexportstroi, Mr. Petur Draganov, Director General of the State-owned Stroitelstvo I Vuzstanovyavane, and Mr. Simeon Peshov, President of Glavbolgarstroi and of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber. The Bulgarian companies made concrete proposals, including Mr. Peshov’s for a contracting arrangement between Glavbolgarstroi and a Greek company to perform the study, added Minister Tserovski. The next professional meeting between the Bulgarian and the Greek construction companies will be in late January 2004 at a seminar in Thessalonica organised with the assistance of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
